Asian Inspired Historical Costume
This dress was created for a customer that desired to have a historical gown, that would be appropriate for historical events, such as Dickens’s reenactments, historical parties, etc… However, she was looking for something elegant and Asian inspired. So this is the design we came up with…
The fabric is a lovely tone on tone woven taffeta in a dark navy blue. Accented with a high collar, closed with a silver clasp to create an Asian feel. The Skirt is a double layer style, with soft gathers for a romantic effect.
The sleeve cuffs worn under the dress create a historical look…cuffs close with antique shell buttons.
The long fully lined navy cape that compliments the dress features a full rounded hood, lovely navy lining and a pretty silver clasp.
Dress features a full slip and lace trimmed crinoline.
