This gown was inspired by the one worn by Susan in the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
Although Susan is seen wearing this dress for a short time, I think it is the most memorable because it is the last one she wears in Narnia.
Here is what the movie gown looked like...
My version of her gown is an inspired by version, I do not claim to have it identical in every way, but similar. I changed the neckline so that it is a bit more princess like and the back features gold eyelets.
The costume consists of a crinoline, full skirted underdress with embellished sleeves and then the over dress is laced up with a functional under corset.
The White Under Dress is accented with an off the shoulder neckline, princess seams and an invisible zipper. The sleeves feature band of a golden fabric trim and lower puffed sleeves tightened with golden fabric cuffs closed with a delicate gold button. The lower hem of this under dress has a slight train in the back achieved with a mermaid like panel.
The Blue and Gold Over gown is made with a fully functional corset underneath. Closed with gold plated corset busks and boned up each lining seam, the back laces tight with gold eyelet and a silken cord.
This over gown is made of a heavy taffeta type fabric…gown is fully lined in the same color.
The front is outlined with the golden fabric trim and is split in the front to allow the silken under gown to show through… the buttons on the cuff are very Narnia inspired.
