Here is a costume I recently created inspired by Gandalf the Grey from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. His scarf and color palette was inspired by what he wore in The Hobbit.

Here is my version of the costume...
My customer was looking for a linen version of Gandalf's costume. Because it would be easier to care for and work well in hotter weather. The linen I found had an amazing homespun texture to it.
Costume includes full linen robe, cape, wool scarf, braided belt and wool hat.
The belt detail below can been seen next to the woven wool scarf on the left.
The robe underneath the full cape is accented with feather stiching at lacing at the neckline. Pleats and a slit in the front and back allow for movement.
The wool hat was carefully constructed and hand sewn with a soft wool fabric.
Sleeves and hem are accented with more details as seen below...
