Transylvania Nightgown

Greetings,

This Nightgown was highly inspired by Transylvania Legends and Lore....Dracula anyone?

Dracula is the classic vampire tale written by Bram Stoker in 1897. The novel wove a story of vampire myth to create a literary legacy. The story was set in Transylvania...thus creating a new platform for many other stories that would soon follow based in this same region.

For the gown I used a lovely organic bamboo and rayon fabric. It is the kind of fabric that is amazingly soft and becomes better with age.

The fabric is a bit thin, but this creates a lovely ghostly effect. Or some such thing.

Almost an off the shoulder low neck that is perfectly romantic.

The low scooped neckline is a drawstring that I stitched in place and tied in a knot so there is not fear of it coming undone.

The sleeves are full and pointed on the lower hem.

Simple long hem floats around the ankles.....or I am sure you could fly in it was well if you happen to have that power come midnight.

Fairytale Enchantress Costume

Greetings,

I am doing a group of "fairytale" inspired costumes over at my etsy shop and this was one of them.

This costume was created out of a selection of purple hued fabrics inspired by King Arthur Legends ….and that classic Fairytale look as well.

The long flowing sleeves elongate the figure for a true fairytale silhouette.

The Costume includes the Plum Gown and the Purple Hood.

Thus being able to create 2 looks with the same costume…one is an elegant look for court and the second is perfect for traveling in the dark woods at night.

The Dress is accented with real silk velvet to bring attention to the scooped neckline.  A swirling pattern of tone on tone rose fabric create the main part of the gown.

Dress style is fitted, but not tight. Closes in the back with an invisible zipper.

and last but not least, a few shots of the hood...my favorite part!

Cape features 2 slits in the front for your lovely arms to reach through and hold onto a basket of treats…or a knife to protect yourself from a hungry wolf.

Kahlan Confessor White Gown

Greetings!

This gown is actually a night gown inspired by Kahlan's Legend of the Seeker Confessor white dress.

 
Here the inspiration for the night gown below.

 

 

My customer wanted something inspired by Kahlan's costume from the tv show, but made into an elegant night gown fit for a Confessor.

So I used a lovely white organic bamboo knit that feels amazingly soft and smooth to the skin.

 

 The front of the gown laces up for a lovely curvy fit and is accented with princess seam construction.

 
 
My favorite part of the gown is the hood. I love the way it drapes and hangs. It creates a very pretty and flattering frame around the face.

 
 
For the sleeves I found a lovely silver vintage style lace trim that looks very medieval in style.

Midnight Elf Gown

The Midnight Elf Gown consists of a full length gown, boned bodice, beaded detailed belt and matching bag.

 
  
The bag is perfect for stashing your necessary items, or for Midnight Elves who need places to keep their findings. It hangs from the belt, with tassels of midnight blue beads.  

 Fabrics include black linen, vintage silks, taffeta and antique lace.  
This costume was created for working backstage on a musical production..., I designed the colors so it was easier to be concealed.

 

Inspiration for the color palette was take from a Dior Poison Perfume ad...picture below.
