Buttercup and Westley Costumes

Greetings,

The costumes I am going to feature here were highly inspired by The Princess Bride movie.

Taking inspiration from Buttercups red/orange riding gown and Westly's Dread Pirate Outfit I created these looks for my customers. Perfect for roaming the hills and braving the fireswamps...

The Buttercup dress is created from a stunning silk and rayon blend fabric from Italy.

Full sleeved cuffs are accented with golden filegree buttons.

The bodice of the dress features a lovely neckline and darted shape to create that "fairytale" look. For the belt I used a woven trim from England that really finished off the style and cinched in the waist.

 

The Dread Pirate Costume consists of a pirate shirt with lacing up the front, detailed smocked style sleeves, button cuffs and classic pirate silhouette.

A sash is added to the waist and black pants are perfect for tucking into leather boots.

Men's Pirate Wardrobe Essentials

The photos featured here are of some Men's Pirate Wardrobe essentials I recently created for customers. I decided to group them all together for easier viewing.

Black Textured Linen Pirate Coat Outfit

This is a very detailed pirate coat. Fully trimmed in black braid work, silver metal buttons, welt pockets and large pirate cuffs.

Win Tapestry Vest Outfit

The tapestry vest is fully lined. Features real welt pockets, bronze metal buttons, fold over front and fitted back out of brown wool.

Linen Pirate Shirt and Suede Pirate Pants Outfit

This shirt is a lovely cream linen detailed pirate shirt. The silky golden sash completes the classic pirate look. Pirate pants button up the front with closures on the knee as well.

Only high quality fabrics and supplies are used.

A Rock'n Roll Pirate Wedding

Greetings,

I had the opportunity to create an Island Gown for a lovely bride who was looking for something unique for her Pirate/Rock' n Roll inspired Wedding.

I really like the whole look they went with...

The design I made for her was one of my "Island Inspired" dresses. Created from linen and lined with a silky shimmery silk/rayon blend.

Lacing up the front accentuates the bust while lacing down the sleeves achieves a custom fit.

Classic Pirate Couple Costumes

Greetings!

This set of costumes were inspired by classic pirate styles and historical garments.

 

The two costumes were designed to coordinate, but not match exactly. So I used a color palette similar to lots of historical styles seen during the "pirate age" so to speak.

 
The Gentleman's Pirate costume consists of: a cream linen pirate shirt with drawstring cuffs and classic collar. Black pirate pants with front button flap and buttons on the lower leg cuff. A hand dyed and tassled sash complete the outfit.

 

 To finish off the look I created a Black Linen Pirate Coat that is carefully tailored and constructed. The coat is fully lined and accented with real welt pockets and leather buttons.

 

 For the Lady Pirate costume I made a linen shirt dress very similar to my Brielle's Pirate Costume. The sash is made in a lovely rust colored 100% silk fabric. For the skirt I used a really nice brown linen and pleated it for a full and pretty silhouette.

 

The ladies dress can be worn with or without the brown linen skirt for a completely new look. Or as a night gown of course. For wherever your sailing and pirate adventures may take you.

 

The second sash is created from a woven linen fabric that is the exact same as Pirate Island Wedding Outfits. I thought it was a fun look to have two sashes for this look.

 

The lower edge of the gown has been accented with hand made lace and an aging effect.

Classic Dashing Pirate

 

This costume was a custom made outfit designed to look like a classic historical pirate. High quality linen fabrics and vintage lace complete the look. The Costume consists of a linen pirate shirt, linen sash, linen pants with front flap and button legs.

Barbossa Costume Version 3

Costume was inspired by the one worn by Captain Barbossa in the Pirates of the Caribbean Movies.

This is the 3rd version of my Barbossa inspired Costumes.

For the costume pictured here, everything is more detailed then before and features a few more movie style construction details.

The costume includes a complete pirate coat with metal buttons, hand detailed cording, textured pirate green fabric and fully lined in black linen. Pockets are custom tailored welt pockets that provide plenty of room for stashing treasure of all kinds.

 

The pirate shirt is a made of a high quality linen and cut in a classic pirate captain style.

 

For the vest I actually used a Persian Rug fabric that I dyed and aged a bit. The lining is a high quality silk blend accented with bronze metal buttons.

 

The costume also includes linen pirate pants created in the Barbossa style with front buttons and lots of tailored details.

 

The Vest is finished off with an 100% silk golden pirate sash aged and dyed for a lived in look.

 

Welt pockets were added to the vest for ease of storing lots of items.

 

The back of the coat is fully detailed and seamed to create a historical look and feel.

Dread Pirate Roberts Style Costume

This costume was inspired by the one worn by The Dread Pirate Roberts in the classic story and movie... Princess Bride.

This Will Turner inspired costume, consists of the following items…

 
Each item is slightly aged and worn for a lived in feel.

Historical Style Pirate pants, Pirate shirt, Sash, Headscarf and Coat.

Coat is made from Pure Black Linen, fully lined and accented with leather buttons made in Italy…functional welt pockets and a high collar complete the look.

 

Linen shirt is dyed a deep burgundy color, fitted in classic pirate style.

Will Turner Style Headscarf

These headscarves were inspired by the ones worn by Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean : At World's End.

 

Looking for Will Turner’s Headscarf?

The fabric used on these headscarves was inspired by the one worn by Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End. Each headscarf has been aged and hand dyed.

These headscarves are the ones that I have dyed and aged to look as close to the movie version as possible…., but please note that they are inspired by the original one worn in the movie…I do not claim to have them completely identical in every respect.

Island Pirate Wedding Outfits

    Pirate Wedding Outfits....

The following garments were created for a couple that were looking for  a Pirates of the Caribbean inspired wedding.

The Brides Gown is made of a lovely slightly shiny linen type fabric, fully lined with a pretty white linen.

 The bodice is accented with white lacing and eyelets to give it a feminine fit. The skirt is fitted through the waist and gradually flows to a lovely a-line style that swishes around the ankles. The sleeves are fitted with eyelets and cording to finish off that pirate look.
 

 

The Groom’s attire is a white linen pirate shirt, inspired by Jack Sparrows signature style. Sleeves button with antique shell buttons. Historical style pants are made of really nice brown linen that drapes well and looks historical. Front of the pants as well as the legs button with brown wooden buttons.

 

To complete the outfit, the waist is tied with a woven fabric sash that features a antique silver colored pattern.
