How to Take your Measurements for a Costume….
—————————————————————————————–
Greetings,
How to Take your Measurements for ordering a costume.
Alright…measurements…here are a few tips when taking your measurements…
If you order a costume from Brielle’s Costumes you will need to fill out a measurement chart.
I send the measurement charts in an e-mail, then you print it off and fill it out.
*I highly recommend going to a professional Bridal Salon or Suit Shop for this…(or another store or company that does measurements) Most places will do this for you and it something that really helps.*
However, if you decide to have a friend measure you, then here are a few ideas to follow.
———————————————————————————
1. Question: What Kind of Tape Measure should I use?
Answer:
Please use a soft, fabric tape measure. You can find these at most stores, (dollar store, fabric store, most stores if they have a “craft or sewing section” there will usually be a tape measure there) or you can purchase them online,…
Amazon.com has some: simply Search: Sewing Tape Measure
Please DO NOT use a carpenter’s tape measure. These are too hard and not flexible to get a good measurement.

2. Question: I plan on losing weight by the time my costume gets here,
so is that ok if I subtracted a few inches from my measurements?
Answer:
Please DO NOT do this, as tempting as it may be to make your measurements smaller, please don’t…If you do end up losing a little weight before the costume gets there, please contact me only if you lose more than 2 inches. Otherwise your costume will still fit, or we can adjust it a little bit for you.

3. Question: I am from England…can I send my measurements in the metric system?
Answer:
Yes, I can convert your metric measurement (centimeters) into inches, (what I use). So that is not a problem.

4. Question: Do you really need all the measurements on your form filled out?
Answer: Yes, I do need all of them. This is to make sure your garment is made to the measurements on the paperwork.

Please take measurements as accurately as possible, thank you.
5. Question: What if my costume doesn’t fit me?
I will be working with the measurements you send, so please take correct and true measurements. If the measurements you send are not your size, then I can’t be responsible for that.
***Please note that this is not a perfect science…because I am working with just measurements, and I do not have you here for fittings, (because this is an online business) there is always the possibility of your garment needing a little bit of an alteration. This is often not the case, but if you do need minor alterations done then I can do that for you, Please contact me for details if you want more information.
