A Rock'n Roll Pirate Wedding

Greetings,

I had the opportunity to create an Island Gown for a lovely bride who was looking for something unique for her Pirate/Rock' n Roll inspired Wedding.

I really like the whole look they went with...

The design I made for her was one of my "Island Inspired" dresses. Created from linen and lined with a silky shimmery silk/rayon blend.

Lacing up the front accentuates the bust while lacing down the sleeves achieves a custom fit.

Green and Blue Tia Costume

Greetings,

Today I have a costume to share with you that was inspired by my Tia Dalma costumes, but in a green and blue color scheme. With a selection of fabrics chosen to represent the sea and an assortment of vintage trims this gown was created.

The costume consists of a fully boned corset, detailed skirt, overdress and beaded belt.

For the belt we used a range of beads, shells and other vintage findings.

The fabric I used for the Over Dress has a lovely colonial inspired print on it of swirled roses and flowers. I accented it with handyed tassles and a stone gray fish net.

You can see touches of vintage lace on the lower sleeves.

The Corset is a deep blue and accented with a selection of fabrics used throughout the costume. Back laces up with green eyelets.

The hem of the skirt is trimmed with a sheer dark green chiffon and completely underlined with seaweed green linen. Gives a nice weight to the skirt when it is just worn with the corset.

Classic Pirate Couple Costumes

Greetings!

This set of costumes were inspired by classic pirate styles and historical garments.

 

The two costumes were designed to coordinate, but not match exactly. So I used a color palette similar to lots of historical styles seen during the "pirate age" so to speak.

 
The Gentleman's Pirate costume consists of: a cream linen pirate shirt with drawstring cuffs and classic collar. Black pirate pants with front button flap and buttons on the lower leg cuff. A hand dyed and tassled sash complete the outfit.

 

 To finish off the look I created a Black Linen Pirate Coat that is carefully tailored and constructed. The coat is fully lined and accented with real welt pockets and leather buttons.

 

 For the Lady Pirate costume I made a linen shirt dress very similar to my Brielle's Pirate Costume. The sash is made in a lovely rust colored 100% silk fabric. For the skirt I used a really nice brown linen and pleated it for a full and pretty silhouette.

 

The ladies dress can be worn with or without the brown linen skirt for a completely new look. Or as a night gown of course. For wherever your sailing and pirate adventures may take you.

 

The second sash is created from a woven linen fabric that is the exact same as Pirate Island Wedding Outfits. I thought it was a fun look to have two sashes for this look.

 

The lower edge of the gown has been accented with hand made lace and an aging effect.

Classic Dashing Pirate

 

This costume was a custom made outfit designed to look like a classic historical pirate. High quality linen fabrics and vintage lace complete the look. The Costume consists of a linen pirate shirt, linen sash, linen pants with front flap and button legs.

Pirate Island Gown: version 7

Greetings,

This pirate island linen gown was created for a customer who wanted one of my Island Gowns in a classic linen fabric. Fully lined gown laces up the front and the side of the sleeves for an elegant pirate fit. The low neckline completes the slightly medieval look perfect for many styles of events.

Actually, this is one the first of my customers I have ever been able to meet in person! She was so sweet and looked very lovely in this gown. We happend to be at the same Faerieworld event 2011.

Brielle's Pirate Costume

            This pirate costume is one that I created from my own original design.

 
 
I wanted a pirate costume that was totally in my own style and construction, so here it is! :) I was going for a style that I felt, was historical and pirate like...while still being pretty.

A few quick notes about the costume…

• Everything is hand drafted and my own design.

  

• All items are hand dyed to achieve the color and aged texture that I desired for the look of the costume.

  

• The Cropped jacket is completely real leather detailed with bronze metal buttons and a fitted silhouette. I aged and distressed the seams for an authentic pirate look.

 

 

• The linen shirt/dress is all natural fiber linen, tea stained and antiqued by hand. Along the hem it is edged with handmade crocheted lace and some antique lace from a catholic prayer table cloth. I carefully dipped it in dyes to create even more of an aged effect.

  
Sleeves on the shirt dress are made from the hem of an antique garment that was very old.

   

• For the corset and skirt I used lovely natural linen dyed in deep shades.

  

The Corset is completely made from linen and lined in a deep cream colored tapestry. Fully boned with metal spiral boning, metal busks and black eyelets tie everything together. Corset seams are accented with machine embroidery and details.

 

Binding is an antique bit of silk binding found at vintage shop. An assortment of vintage metal buttons grace the front.

•  The linen skirt is attached to the corset and is constructed in a historical fashion with full pleating and a split front. Hem dyed to look a bit dirty.

   

• I like to use antique and vintage trims and notions to give everything a historical feel.

 I will be doing a photoshoot of me wearing this costume at some point, but the weather hasn't been good enough for that yet. So that will be coming soon.

Dread Pirate Roberts Style Costume

This costume was inspired by the one worn by The Dread Pirate Roberts in the classic story and movie... Princess Bride.

 "...and I am not left handed either!"

This Will Turner inspired costume, consists of the following items…

 
Each item is slightly aged and worn for a lived in feel.

Historical Style Pirate pants, Pirate shirt, Sash, Headscarf and Coat.

Coat is made from Pure Black Linen, fully lined and accented with leather buttons made in Italy…functional welt pockets and a high collar complete the look.

 

Linen shirt is dyed a deep burgundy color, fitted in classic pirate style.

 

Pirate pants are black linen, features the historical fit and high quality black buttons.

Sash and Headscarf and dyed and age for a worn lived in look and feel.

Black and Red Tia Style Gown

This gown was inspired by my version of the Tia Dalma Costume.

However, this costume was created with red silks, black silks and  black linens. I also used some antique laces, vintage beads and black fish netting.

The belt was also carefully hand beaded with glass beads and even some fresh water pearls.
