Ella Dress Sneak Peak

You might recall my "Cowboys and Aliens" costume post over here

Well,  I finally got around to getting some pictures snapped of my Ella Inspired Costume.

I will be featuring more pictures over on  the costume site, but for now here are a few sneak peaks for people that asked about it.

My inspired by version was created from a 1860's reproduction fabric I found. So that was kind of fun. Also again...mine is inspired by Ella's. It isn't exact, but I thought it still captured a very similar look to her costume. Her dress had little pink flowers, where as mine has dark tan. I actually prefer the dark tan for me.

 Oh yes...the Wrist Blaster!

I was on the hunt for how to make one of these inexpensively and came across the Slurpee Cups made by 7-11 stores during the month of August. I grabbed my cup off of ebay.

 

I cut the cuff off of the cup. Then because it was rather large, I made a foam insert covered with leather and stuck that inside the cuff. Now it first my smaller sized wrist just fine. Perfect for blasting Aliens! ;)

oh! The best part of this slurpee cup is that it lights up! How cool is that?

 Defiantly the best $7.99 I have spent in a really long time. I do wish it didn't have the on/off switch, but you can't really see it anyway...and for the price, I didn't care. ;)
